Palm Sunday Pilgrimage in Bucharest
On Saturday, April 8, 2023, on the eve of the great feast of the Lord’s entry into Jerusalem (Palm Sunday), the Romanian Patriarchate and the Archdiocese of Bucharest organized, as every year, the Flower Pilgrimage in Bucharest, which was attended by hierarchs, priests, monks, nuns and lay faithful from the capital and Ilfov county. The procession began at 4:15 pm at Radu Voda Monastery, with the sanctification of willow branches, which were then offered to the faithful present. The pilgrimage then continued to the Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Spiridon – New and to the Church of Saint Ecaterina, up to the Hill of Joy of the Romanian Patriarchate.
The Flower Pilgrimage in Bucharest ended with a service officiated by His All Holiness Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, who consecrated the icon of the feast of the Lord’s entry into Jerusalem, said the prayer of blessing to the pilgrims and addressed a word of teaching.
