World Day Against Child Labour
Today is World Day Against Child Labour. Established by the International Labour Organisation in 2002, the day draws attention to the practice and the need to eliminate it.
“It is inhumane to see children forced to work from an early age, to beg, to be sexually exploited, to be trafficked. Greater sanctions are needed to discourage these behaviours. It is true that prevention is also very important, it is true that society needs to be prepared and to learn what is good and what is not good”, said Laura Vicol, Chair of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, at a Conference dedicated to the fight against human trafficking..
AIDRom fights against child labour exploitation and works to protect children by educating and informing them and providing activities dedicated to children in projects targeting vulnerable people and supporting them with products and school supplies to continue going to school.
