Antena 3’s Visit to AIDRom: Stories of Hope and Integration

As we approach the third anniversary of the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, the Antena 3 team joined us at the AIDRom headquarters on Locotenent Ionescu Baican Street in Bucharest to document some deeply emotional stories of Ukrainians forced to flee the conflict.

On Wednesday, February 19, and Thursday, February 20, reporters captured authentic moments from the lives of Ukrainian refugees who, with the support of the AIDRom team, are learning Romanian and practicing their vocabulary, participating in art therapy workshops where emotions take shape through colors and forms, and receiving counseling on topics of interest. They benefit from the “Integration of Ukrainian Refugees in Romania” project, implemented by AIDRom with financial support from Brot für die Welt.

Interviews with Romanian language instructor Cătălina Popescu and project manager Cătălina Niculescu provided a clear perspective on the daily efforts we have been making for the past three years to support and integrate refugees.

The reports bring to light stories of resilience, courage, and determination. We thank the Antena 3 team for their involvement and for highlighting the reality faced by refugees in Romania, as well as the ongoing efforts of the AIDRom team to provide essential support to those in need.
