Fr. Michael Tița Appointed Eparchial Vicar of the Archdiocese of Bucharest

The Permanent Council of the Eparchial Council of the Archdiocese of Bucharest has appointed Fr. Michael Tița, honorary patriarchal counselor, as Eparchial Vicar. He will officially assume his duties on Saturday, March 1, 2025.

According to the Statute for the Organization and Functioning of the Romanian Orthodox Church, “the eparchial vicar primarily handles protocol, representation, and relations with institutions and organizations that support the activities of the diocese. In this capacity, he acts as a delegate of the diocesan vicar” (Art. 106, Paragraph 3).

Fr. Michael Tița was ordained deacon in 1988 and priest in 1991. He earned a Doctorate in Theology in 1993 from the University of Durham, United Kingdom, and has made significant contributions within the Patriarchal Administration since 1991.

Additionally, Fr. Michael Tița serves as Vice President of AIDRom.
