On Monday, April 03, 2023, the Conference took place in Bucharest through which the Ecumenical Association of Churches in Romania – AIDRom and its partners, the Novapolis Association – the Center for Analyzes and Initiatives for Development, the Institution of the Prefect of Caraș-Severin County and the Institution of the Prefect of Timiș County marked the completion of the project “EoM – Solidarity and inclusive communities for immigrants in Romania”. March 23, 2022 – Conference to promote best practice models between state public institutions, the NGO sector and the social media field
This conference was organized by the Ecumenical Association of Churches in Romania AIDRom, within the “EoM – Solidarity and Inclusive Communities for Immigrants in Romania” Project.
The project “EoM – Solidary and inclusive communities for immigrants in Romania” promotes active, multidimensional, and multi-sectoral involvement and an attitude of acceptance, solidarity, and tolerance in protecting human rights and equal treatment of immigrants, especially asylum seekers, and refugees, by working both at the level of local communities and through information and awareness campaigns on immigration among children and young people in educational institutions in communities with more migrants.
June 8, 2021 – Launch conference of the “EoM – Solidarity and inclusive communities for immigrants in Romania” project
The Ecumenical Association of Churches in Romania AIDRom, together with the Novapolis Association – the Center for Analyzes and Initiatives for Development and the Institution of the Prefect of Caraș-Severin County and the Institution of the Prefect of Timiș County organized on June 8, 2021, at the Marshal Garden Hotel (Calea Dorobantilor 50B, Sector 1), the launch conference of the “EoM – Solidary and inclusive communities for immigrants in Romania” project. This facilitated the meeting of 36 main actors active in the field of migration and integration of foreigners in Romania, respectively representatives of public authorities and institutions (Ministry of Labor and Social Protection – Alina Pop, Secretary of State; DGASMB Bucharest – Cosmina Simean, Director General; DGASPC Sector 2 – Ionuţ Iordăchescu, Director General; IGI Bucharest; Border Police; ANITP; School Inspectorate Bucharest), of the non-governmental sector (FDSC – Ionuţ Sibian, Director General; JRS, CNRR, SALVAțI COPII, ICAR, RED CROSS, Terre des Homes, Proedus, ADPARE), of the academic environment (ASE Bucharest, National Library of Romania), of the church environment (Association Philanthropy Bucharest, Archdiocese of Bucharest, Reformed Church, Romanian Patriarchate) as well as members of the communities of migrants, refugees and mediators intercultural from our country.
During the event, a series of discussions and debates took place regarding the project and its activities, the involvement of local authorities, and the public discourse on migration and integration in Romanian communities and cities. The conference was also attended by migrants and refugees from Romania, who shared their integration experiences and told stories about the communities they belong to.
