Integration of foreigners into Romanian society – INTE-RO, FAMI/22.02.08 (03)
The Ecumenical Association of Churches in Romania (AIDRom) will implement the project “Integration of Foreigners into Romanian Society – INTE-RO, FAMI/22.02.08 (03)” from December 2022 to October 2023.
The project will take place in Region 3, which includes the counties of Suceava, Botoșani, Neamț, and Iași, with a focus on the localities of Rădăuți and Iași. Its aim is to provide support to beneficiaries of international protection (BPI) and third-country nationals (RTT) in region 3, thereby contributing to the social integration of these target beneficiaries with a form of protection and legally residing third-country nationals in Romania. This will be achieved through the implementation of a regional integration model in accordance with the requirements of the National Program – Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund (PN FAMI).
The specific objectives of the project include contributing to the integration of beneficiaries of international protection (BPI) and third-country nationals (RTT) into Romanian society within the duration of the 10-month project implementation.
The project will promote a favorable environment for the integration process by disseminating relevant information and fostering continued/strengthened dialogue among all regional stakeholders involved in the integration of migrants in Romania, including local authorities, public institutions, non-governmental organizations, mediators, migrant communities, and volunteers.
The provided services to the target group include counseling, information provision, cultural orientation, Romanian language courses, and socio-cultural, socio-educational, and socio-recreational activities.
Priority will be given to beneficiaries of a form of protection who are participating in the integration program, those who have completed the program within the past year, as well as those who, for various reasons, have not had access to the integration program. Additionally, services will be provided to beneficiaries of a form of protection who have been excluded from the integration program and fall into vulnerable categories defined by law. Individuals in other vulnerable categories, beyond those specified by law, will be identified through a social investigation.
Regarding third-country nationals (RTT), the project will specifically focus on those with special needs, vulnerable cases, social or risk situations, such as unemployed individuals, single-parent families, unaccompanied children, or those from disadvantaged backgrounds, and other persons facing difficulties. Individuals falling into these categories will be identified through a social investigation. Foreigners who do not fall into these categories will also have access to counseling, information provision, cultural orientation, Romanian language courses, and socio-cultural, socio-educational, and socio-recreational activities, subject to availability.
