„AIM 5 – Actions to integrate migrants in Region 5”

The Ecumenical Association of Churches in Romania organizes the closing conference of the IIIrd stage of the project “AIM 5 – Actions to integrate migrants in Region 5“. The event will take place on December 14, 2022, at the AIDRom headquarters in Timișoara, 9, Gheorghe Șincai street, between 15:00-17:00.

The project was implemented by AIDRom – the Ecumenical Association of Churches in Romania, together with its partners: Oradea Philanthropy Association, Timiș County Prefect’s Institution, Caraș-Severin County Prefect’s Institution, Bihor County Prefect’s Institution. The third implementation stage started on September 26, 2022, and will be completed on December 25, 2022. The total budget of the project, for the 3 Implementation Stages, was in the total amount of: 3,163,283.80 lei.

Oradea Philanthropy Association organizes the closing conference of the IIIrd stage of the project: “AIM 5 – Actions for the integration of migrants in Region 5”. The project was carried out in 3 implementation stages, and the third implementation stage started on September 26, 2022 and will be completed on December 25, 2022. The total budget of the project, during the 3 Implementation Stages, was in the total amount of: 3,163. 283.80 lei.

The Ecumenical Association of Churches in Romania – AIDRom organizes the launch conference of the 3rd stage of the project: “AIM 5 – Migrant integration actions in Region 5”, at the AIDRom headquarters in Timișoara, on October 13, 2022.

The project is implemented by AIDRom together with its partners: Asociația Filantropia Oradea, the Timiș County Prefect’s Institution, the Caraș-Severin County Prefect’s Institution and the Bihor County Prefect’s Institution. The 3rd stage of implementation takes place between September 26, 2022 – December 25, 2022, the project being financed by the European Union and the General Inspectorate for Immigration, through the National Program – Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.

The main target group of the project is represented by the beneficiaries of international protection (BP) and the nationals of third countries with the right of residence on the territory of Romania, among the project’s objectives are the increase in the level of social integration of BP and RTT from Region 5, as well as strengthening local inter-institutional support networks, community support, volunteers and representative members of the communities of foreigners.

The event is attended by representatives of the General Inspectorate for Immigration, of the local authorities with attributions in the integration process of migrants from Timiș and Caraș-Severin counties, representatives of non-governmental organizations, private companies, as well as representatives of the communities of foreigners in Timișoara.

AIDRom – the Ecumenical Association of Churches in Romania, together with its partners, implemented the second stage of the project “AIM 5 – Actions for the integration of migrants in Region 5” during the period: September 26, 2021 – September 25, 2022.

The main target group of the project is represented by beneficiaries of international protection (BPI) and third country nationals (RTT) with the right to stay on the territory of Romania (on the basis of a short or long-term residence permit), who require support in order to integrate into Romania, as they are defined in national and European legislation.

The project is financed by the European Union and the General Inspectorate for Immigration, through the National Program – Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.

The project is carried out in 3 stages of implementation:

The first stage of implementation takes place in the period: September 26, 2020 – September 25, 2021.

The project is financed by the European Union and the General Inspectorate for Immigration, through the National Program – Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.

The main target group of the project is represented by beneficiaries of international protection (BP) and third-country nationals with the right to stay on Romanian territory (on the basis of a short or long-term residence permit), who require support in order to integrate into Romania, so as they are defined in national and European legislation.

This project aims to:

Objective 1: Increase the level of social integration of BP and RTT in Region 5, through access to individualized and complex integration services.

Objective 2: Strengthen local inter-institutional support networks, community support, volunteer networks, and representative members from the communities of foreigners.

Objective 3: Development of the professional capacities of actors involved in assisting the target group.
Through this project, the activity of the Timișoara and Oradea Regional Integration Centers will be continued, being offered, free of charge, specialized social and legal counseling services, material assistance for vulnerable categories, Romanian language courses, and cultural accommodation, leisure activities free for migrants, specific actions for minor beneficiaries of the target group and mediation of the migrants’ relationship with the institutions involved in the project. Also, the county networks of volunteers will be strengthened, and work groups, training sessions, and information sessions and awareness of the phenomenon of migration in the local community will be created.

The project will provide information, counseling, and assistance services, at the local and regional levels, within the 2 CRIs: Oradea and Timișoara, as well as in the PRC within CRCPSA Timisoara, in the entire area of competence of CRCPSA Timișoara, in terms of rights and legal obligations, as well as direct support in accessing the public services available for the target group regarding the labor market, the educational system, the medical system (hygiene rules), the social system, legal assistance, learning the Romanian language, cultural orientation, obtaining a housing and other activities according to the legal provisions in the field of integration of foreigners in Romanian society.

The main directions of support are:

1. Direct assistance to the target group by providing services of information on the rights and obligations of beneficiaries in Romania, social and legal counseling services: individual or group, material assistance for vulnerable people, and services to access the labor market.
2. Providing educational services: Romanian language courses and cultural accommodation and social, cultural, and recreational activities.
3. Increasing community support: presentation of the Romanian migration phenomenon to local communities, the fight against prejudice and discrimination, and the creation of communication channels between the local community and foreigners, and their active involvement, but also the involvement of volunteers and intercultural mediators in the process of migrant integration.
4. Strengthening the public-private partnership at the local level in the field of migration between government actors with a role in the integration of migrants and CRIs.
