“Welcome your neighbour”
The aim of the exhibition is to reach as many people as possible in order to make sensitive the civil society on the concept of:Welcoming strangers”.
The exhibition will bring near the local community towards the reality faced by the refugees.
The relevance of the project  results from the activities and the facilities made available to the target group, which aim to ensure their passage from being a category with the permanent needs of assistance, to an independent category, capable of self-support and informed in a fair and effective way (in particular by learning the Romanian language, to accommodate the cultural activities). Moreover, the aim is that the vulnerable persons to have access to the services and conditions of appropriate receipt, in accordance with the provisions of the Directives of the European Commison on the matter.
1.2     Preparation of the 5 exhibitions- 2 months: August – September 2018
Exhibition target groups: direct target groups: University students, Theology Faculty, local institutions, schools
Indirect target groups: local communities, state institutions, students from other faculties, etc
The content of the exhibition: living stories of the refugees, biblical stories and challenges regarding the migration
Time table: 6 months – August- December 2018
Location: Timisoara, Giurgiu, Bucharest, Galati, Iasi.
The concept of the exhibition was developed as a continuation of the exhibition run by the Lutheran Church in Romania.
Materials:
600 flyers already issued in the former project run by the Romanian Lutheran Church, 6 roll-ups, power point presentation
– Adjusting the layout of the flyers with the actual project
– Production of the Romanian flyers containing the exhibition and the testimonies of refugees.
The exhibition will be followed by 5 Round tables where it will be discussed subjects regarding the situation of the refugees leaving in Romania, examples of the community involvement, presentation of positive leaving stories, etc. Guest speakers as well as refugees that benefited from the assistance done by AIDRom will be invited to the RT.
Other participants: NGOs active in the issue of migration and integration, local authorities, school inspectorate, church representatives, teachers, etc
The coordinator of the exhibitions, Fr. Mihai Spatarelu will signed protocols with the Universities where the exhibition will be disseminated.
AIDRom local coordinators will help in the development of the exhibitions.
The exhibition will benefit from the presence of the local mediators trained by AIDRom within the last project. They will provide information regarding the situation of the refugees in Romania.
The exhibition will run 3 weeks in the same city and will be transferred also in schools and high schools.
Questionnaires and student workshops will be held, so that the young generation is reached with this theme. The teachers of religion should be involved and be offered class by class, small projects, as well as events for the whole school. The topics of today’s situation in Europe and Romania, as well as dealing with the fears in the population to be worked up,
The regions where the exhibition will take place had been decided according to the region where the number of refugees is higher due to the relocation done by the General Inspectorate of the Immigration and also of the region that cannot be covered through the project developed by the Lutheran Church
AIDRom will start the project by organizing a preparatory meeting in Bucharest.
The mixed team (formed by representatives of AIDRom specialised in the issue of migration and General Inspectorate for Immigration) gathers to establish the venues of the counselling desks, the materials needed for the information of the beneficiaries, as well as the preparation of the exhibition “Welcome your neighbour”.
