Let us offer peace and joy, especially to the poor and sick, sad and lonely, refugees and alienated!
Blessed Father Daniel, the Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, delivered the traditional Easter message to the believers celebrating Easter at the end of this week. Urging to understand the meaning of Holy Easter, the message calls for the manifestation of Christian love towards those in need.
The message of the Patriarch:
“On Easter night we sing: Now all is filled with light, both heaven and earth and the things below. This means: Now all created things have been filled with their ultimate meaning. All point to the light of eternal life in the Kingdom of God. Why? Because the crucified and risen Christ conquered sin, hell, and death, giving the world eternal, imperishable life. Therefore, the celebration of Holy Easter illuminates the whole life of the Church and of every Christian, because, through baptism, repentance, the Eucharist, and almsgiving, we unite with the crucified and risen Christ, the conqueror of death. The celebration of Holy Easter calls us today to offer light, peace and joy to those around us, especially to the poor and sick, sad and lonely, refugees and alienated. We wish you all health and happiness, peace and joy, together with the Easter greeting: Christ is risen! He is truly risen!”.
