
Assistance of refugees at Timișoara Emergency Center
and support for Ukrainian refugees

The current project (ROU-23141Y24M181571-0001) aims to provide an integrated system of assistance and services for at least 400 refugees evacuated and temporarily hosted at the Emergency Transit Center in Timisoara, as well as at least 1000 Ukrainian refugees displaced persons in the Western area of Romania (Timisoara, Arad, and Oradea).
The project is meant to cover outputs with two different approached interventions:
- Output 1: Refugees at ETC access shelter and basic services;
- Output 2: Access to information, legal advice and referrals for social services for the Ukrainian refugees settled in Timisoara, Arad, and Oradea;
- Output 3: is meant to provide multipurpose cash assistance available to ensure access to core relief items.
The services provided in ETC within the project aim to ensure access to basic assistance and services, safe shelter, and dignified living conditions, with a special emphasis on persons with specific needs. The project also entails access to healthcare and psycho-social support.
The strategy adopted by AIDROM in implementing the activities will focus on providing assistance and services tailored to the needs of the persons of concern.
Through this project, AIDRom aims to engage local and central public institutions and authorities with responsibilities in the field: Ministry of Internal Affairs, National Agency against Trafficking in Human Beings, Ministry of Labor, Child Protection Directorates, Ministry of National Education, Ministry of Health and other relevant institutions.
The activities will be deployed at:
- the AIDRom Multifunctional Center from Timisoara;
- the Fialntropia Association Oradea;
- the Direction of Social Assistance Arad.
Beneficiaries will be referred from AIDRom multifunctional Centers, UNHCR regional refugees’ centers devoted to the Ukrainian victims of war, and other NGOs involved in the assistance of the Ukrainian refugees..
