AIDRom and ACT Alliance: emergency response for conflict-affected communities in Ukraine

The program “AIDRom – Emergency Response for Communities Affected by the Conflict in Ukraine”, funded by the ACT Alliance, is designed to help the effective integration of more than 2000 Ukrainian citizens (or foreign citizens with residence in Ukraine) who were forced to leave the country because of the war and who now live in Romania (for example: in Bucharest, Iasi, Galati).

The promoter of the program is AIDRom – the Ecumenical Association of Romanian Churches, the national platform for ecumenical dialogue and collaboration of Romanian Churches. The partner and funder of the program is ACT Alliance, a global Faith-based association, organized in national and regional forums, which carries out its activities in more than 120 countries.

Over the course of one year (May 2022 – May 2023), AIDRom and ACT Alliance provide for over 2,000 beneficiaries of this program: legal and social integration advice, help in accessing the labour market, material aid and assistance for the purchase of food products, of hygiene and specialized medical consultations. The program also provides financial aid for the purchase of medicines and medical devices, as well as financial aid for renting housing. Ukrainian children benefit from financial aid for school courses, for placement in nursery and kindergarten programs, and for the purchase of supplies. Refugees from Ukraine also benefit from psychotherapy and psychological counselling services.
